Our Sing@Home with KLSing programme was a response to the recent CoVId-19 pandemic which stopped us from singing together in person. Being isolated and told to "duduk rumah" (stay at home) was starting to take a toll on our mental health. However, realising that when we sing our brain releases “feel-good” chemicals including endorphins. we know that singing an effective mood buster.
So, if we couldn't meet in person, the next best thing was to attempt to bring singers "together" online and our Sing@Home programme began on 9 April 2020, offering our community group singing sessions twice a week.
As at December 2021, we have conducted over 150 Zingalong sessions; our own weekly sessions and also for other organisation's online sessions. In May 2021, we also managed to organise an online fundraiser in conjunction with our Founder Cheryl's Giving Month and raised RM5,000 for both The Perak Women for Women Society and Home of Peace in Kuala Lumpur.
